dc.description Abstract en_US
dc.description.abstract The research explored on making successful cooperative societies and innovative entrepreneurs: challenges, opportunities, and new trends, was conducted in Uasin Gishu County. It aimed to investigate the critical factors influencing the growth and sustainability of cooperative societies and entrepreneurial ventures. Data were collected from cooperative members and entrepreneurs across various cooperative societies, e.g. Kenya National Farmers Federation (KENAFF), with a sample size of 200 participants. These individuals provided valuable insights through surveys and interviews, offering a comprehensive perspective on the current challenges and opportunities in the sector. The findings revealed significant challenges like; governance issues, financial constraints, regulatory hurdles, and the impact of technological advancements on traditional business models. Specifically, 60% of respondents reported financial constraints as a major obstacle, while 45% highlighted governance challenges. Despite these snags, the study identified opportunities for growth, inclusive of access to new markets, digital transformation, and the implementation of innovative business models. These opportunities are pivotal for fostering the growth and development of cooperative societies and entrepreneurs, enabling them to thrive in a rapidly changing economic environment. In light of the study's findings, various suggestions were put forward. Enhancing financial access through alternative funding sources and financial support mechanisms emerged as a top priority. Improving governance structures by implementing training programs and best practices was also recommended. Additionally, supporting technological adaptation and encouraging the adoption of innovative business models were highlighted as vital steps toward achieving sustainable success. Policymakers are urged to align policies with emerging trends, such as the rise of social enterprises and green technologies, to create an enabling environment for cooperative societies and innovative entrepreneurs. The implications of this study suggest that addressing the identified challenges and leveraging available opportunities can significantly contribute to the success and sustainability of cooperative societies and entrepreneurs. These insights provide a foundation for future efforts to support and enhance the impact of these entities, promoting economic and social progress in the community. en_US
