dc.description.abstract |
The main question which has troubled both policy makers and members of the co-operative movement in
Africa, is whether the co-operative enterprise is still relevant in Africa. The implementation of structural
adjustment programs and consequent liberalisation policies in early 1980’s did set signals that co-operative
movement had met its final demise in the eyes of the emerging global economy. |
