dc.description.abstract The study was conducted to assess implementation of occupational health and safety policy in beverage industries in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania a case of Bonite Bottlers and Serengeti Breweries Limited in Moshi Municipality. The purpose of the study was to determine factors affecting worker's health and safety in beverage industries, knowledge on occupational health and safety and the available health and safety equipment among workers in the study areas. The sample size was 100 workers from BBL and SBL, where, Key Informants interview, survey questionnaire and documentary review were used as data collection tools. Data were analysed using multiple response, factor analysis and descriptive statistics. The study found that manual handling (58)72% of responses, confined space works (59)74%, and poor ventilations and temperatures (59)74% of responses affect worker's health and safety in beverage industries. Moreover, the study found that current workplace environment support with (18)23%, safety training attendance with (56)70% and adherence to health and safety procedures with (22)27% of responses determine workers' knowledge on occupational health and safety. With regard to the available health and safety equipment among workers the findings show that safety shoes/boots (54)67%, ear plugs (43)54%, and dust musk (29)36% of responses are the health and safety equipment used in beverages industries. The study recommended that there must be evidence of employee competence and training which should be maintained through enhancement of managers' and supervisors' OSH competence, since they must take the lead in rolling out safety throughout the companies' documentation of enhanced training procedures and forms to bring more focus to safety and health en_US
